Kingfisher is a 1400 mm scooter and follow-on training engine made of durable foamed EPO (extruded polyolefin) for flying all year round from land, water and snow. The classic cabin high wing with a strut-mounted wing offers a durable duralural chassis with large foam wheels, a set of water-flood floats and plastic skis in a single set. The kit includes a FPV camera mount that can sense the world in the view of the pilot sitting in the cabin. The fuselage EPO model fuselage comes with an alternating C3536-850 rotary crankshaft motor fitted with a 40A AC controller and rudder and elevator servos. In front of the fuselage, the battery compartment is easily accessible thanks to the removable cover. For Kingfisher, you'll need LiPo 2200 mAh cells with a 25C capacity.
Tail surfaces are EPO, vertical tail is firmly attached to hull, horizontal is fastened by quick couplings. The rudder and elevator propellers are mounted on the sides of the tail hull.
The wing is also made of foamed EPO with modified Clark-Y profile, two-part, coupled by a tubular carbon clutch. To the hull, the two halves are fastened by means of a quick coupling. Ailerons and flaps are controlled by two pairs of servos mounted in the wing with short straight wire rods. Prior to attaching the rods, we recommend that the rudders "move" repeatedly with cautious upward and downward deflection, respectively. left and right.
The two-wheeled chassis is duralumin, the spur is coupled with a snowdrift and can easily be swapped behind a water helm when flying with floats." Wheels are large foam for "bush flying"; you can easily swap it for a skier for flying in the snow.
Floats are made of foamed EPO with wire struts, detachable waterblock mounted instead of spurs is coupled with rudder. When taxiing, taking off and landing on the water, you really appreciate it!
Ailerons, buoyancy flaps, rudder (coupled spurs or water steering), elevator and engine speed are controlled.
To control the model, you need at least a five-channel, but rather at least seven-channel, RC set that allows independent control and adjustment of aileron and flap servos. In this case, you can set a differentiation of aileron deflections; we recommend 10-20% for the beginning - ie, the aileron deflection is slightly smaller compared to the upward displacement. This will make it easier to control the model, which will have a lesser tendency to spin off the turn. A similar effect can be achieved by using aileron-rudder mix, you can combine both - with the aileron-rudder mix you "grab" the initial gradient, the differentiation improves your own curve crossing.
Kingfisher is designed for beginners or rather slightly advanced modelers. The model in the lines of the sporty "box-like" high wing will introduce you to some of the features that are typical for similar machines - you will be required to properly coordinate the model with rudder, aileron and elevator. This experience "as you find" at the latest after you start flying with your first acrobatic model or (semi) machete of any kind. Nice to get used to the fact that they are not used to decorate the transmitters, but to use them in the right way and at the right moment. It's cruel to us, but you'll be grateful later. Its domain is, of course, a smooth flyover that gives you and your colleagues at the airport plenty of time to enjoy elegant shapes, but after a small "launch" it reliably manages the looping, twisting turns and curtains."
