Information about the original:

The Bedford QL range of military trucks was created in the late 1930s to provide the British Army with a more modern and flexible means of transport. After testing in 1940 and early 1941, Bedford QLs were distributed to army corps, regiments and other units. Throughout the war, it was deployed on various fronts and thanks to its all-wheel drive and relatively low weight, which further enhanced its carrying capacity, it proved to be a very effective support vehicle satisfying logistical and transport needs. Due to its flexibility and robustness, it was also used to tow and transport guns such as the six-pounder anti-tank gun and the 40mm Bofors anti-aircraft gun. It was powered by a 72-horsepower six-cylinder gasoline engine and was also characterized by ease of maintenance and repair, which was important on the battlefield.
