During the Second World War, the German army used a lot of rocket launchers because it was cheap and at the same time highly efficient weapon systems. The main disadvantage of these vehicles was the lack of mobility, which made them vulnerable to hostile counterattacks. This mobile version of the 150mm type 42 launcher was therefore mounted on a semi-track car Sd. Kfz. 4 Maultier, thanks to which the Germans achieved good mobility in off-road conditions. In addition, the vehicle was equipped with an armor for better crew protection.
