Information about the original:

This large three-bay amphibious vehicle was developed during World War II for the US Armed Forces. The aim was to construct a vehicle that would supply ammunition, food and material stored in the cargo spaces of transport ships to invasion units that occupied a bridgehead in enemy territory immediately after landing. The DUKW vehicle had good navigational characteristics and could move well even in the terrain, which, combined with a high load capacity, allowed it to fully fulfill its logistical role. In the post-war years, it was widely used by US allies until the 1970s, including civil protection tasks.
