Sucho Su-2, used as a light bomber and reconnaissance aircraft, was first introduced to Soviet troops in March 1940. The large-scale air force began to operate from January next year. Russian pilots greatly appreciated their high reliability: some bumps and damaged machines were sent to repairs base more than twenty times, more than eloquently showing how robust their construction was.
