Original information:
During the 1930s, Henschel was tasked with designing and building an attack aircraft that could provide support to ground troops. This led to the creation of a robust biplane Henschel Hs-123, which was delivered to the Air Force in 1935. The first deployment of the aircraft occurred during the Spanish Civil War squadrons of the Condor Legion. Thanks to its 880 hp BMW star engine, the Hs-123 was able to reach a top speed of 340 km / h and could carry a large offensive payload. During World War II, however, the rapid technological development of aircraft design, engines, and power pushed the Hs-123 into a secondary role, despite its proven reliability. For example, on the Eastern Front, the aircraft was used primarily for night attacks.
