Original and model information:
Tiger II or King Tiger represented the finale of the development of German tank technology during World War II. The King Tiger was a 68-ton "animal", armed with the latest dreaded 88 mm anti-tank gun, which was able to eliminate from combat any Allied tank at a distance of up to 3 km. Tigers II were first used during the Battle of Normandy, in the days following the Allied landings. The price and technical sophistication of these massive tanks determined that only 489 pieces were produced in the end. The price of one King Tiger corresponded to the price of nine Sherman tanks used by the US military.
