Original information:
Macchi MC.202 Folgore was an Italian World War II fighter, which followed on from its predecessor MC.200. Its very successful underwent changes that allowed the installation of a new power unit. MC.202 Folgore was powered by either the DB 601 A-1 engine or the DB 601A license of the Alfa Romeo factory - RA.1000 RC-41 Monsonie. He completed his first flight MC.202 in August 1940. In the hands of an experienced pilot, this type was a dangerous opponent to all Allied aircraft.
