Original information:
During World War II, the Wehrmacht deployed a 150mm SFH18 howitzer on all key fronts. Rheinmetall and Krupp, one of the main artillery companies in Germany, developed it in the 1920s and 1930s with the aim of optimizing resources and technological possibilities within the limits set by the Treaty of Versailles. From 1933, however, German plans for rearmament began to be significantly more ambitious, with a particularly significant increase in the production of howitzers and field cannons. SFH18 had a simple and reliable construction and allowed a maximum range of 13.5 km. It was possible to divide it into two parts and tow it by horses or half-track cars, as was more common during the Second World War. The operation of this cannon consisted of 7 soldiers. A version of 105 mm caliber (sK 10.5 cm) was also developed on the same chassis, which received a longer barrel. However, it was significantly heavier and was produced in much smaller numbers than the standard 105mm Wehrmacht field cannon with the designation leFH18.
