The Volkswagen Type 166 amphibian was developed for the Wehrmacht based on the KdF and Type 82.
The result is a better amphibious car and, with its abilities on land and on water, also the most successful car of all time, recognized even by enemies during the war.
In today's off-road competitions, the VW Schwimmwagen repeatedly beats modern competitors due to its low weight.

Between the autumn of 1942 and the summer of 1944, over 14,000 pieces were produced at the Volkswagen factory near Fallersleben.
