The Czech Ice Hockey Extraliga celebrated its thirtieth anniversary in the 2022/2023 season. During that time we were able to track hundreds of players. Some fell into oblivion, others wore the national team jersey, or became famous in the NHL. The exceptional ones became club legends.
The Extraliga All-Stars card game allows you to build your own dream team and play matches against both live opponents and "virtual" opponents. In the game, you will find all the teams from the 2022/2023 season and, as a bonus, also the teams that have won the extra league title in the thirty-year history. Each team is represented by six hockey players from the entire history of the independent extra league, who were selected in cooperation with individual hockey clubs. In the game you will also find the biggest personalities of Czechoslovak hockey in the form of legend cards without club affiliation. It's up to you how your team will look and if you can lead them to the title.

The game is intended for 2-5 players from 8 years old and will take you about 30 minutes. It is divided into two main phases.

1. DRAFT
Can you think of better game mechanics for a team building hockey game? In card games, the standard way of drafting is that players are dealt a certain number of cards, they choose one and pass the remaining cards to the next player. In our game, hockey player cards are drafted. There are 110 of them in total and your goal is to draft hockey players in the right positions (LK, C, PK, O, O, B) and preferably get more players from specific clubs. After 2 rounds of the draft, during which you get 12 hockey player cards, you will create a basic lineup for the first round of the second part of the game.

2nd SEASON
The main part of the game, in which you and your team fight for victory. The season consists of several rounds, during which you and your team compete in matches against other players and "virtual" opponents. Before matches, event cards are revealed that affect all players during the current round. The players themselves can change the course of the game with coach cards, but they only have 3 for the entire season, so their use needs to be carefully considered. Matches are scored by dice rolls, but of course there are some interesting mechanics and rule twists hidden behind that. After each match, there will be forced and voluntary substitutions of players, so don't think that you just need to draft a strong starting line-up and you've won.

Hockey player cards:
In the game, you will find 6 cards of hockey players (center, left wing, right wing, 2 defenders, goalkeeper) from each of the 14 clubs that played the Extraliga season 2022/2023 + 3 other teams that won the title in the 30-year history of the Extraliga, plus 8 legend cards pre-extraleague era. On the cards you can find the player's position, club affiliation, how many years he spent in the Extraliga at the given club and how many titles he won with him. Two players from each club are also assigned a special ability that allows them to manipulate dice during matches.
