Cromwell was the first tank in the British Army to add a high speed and a relatively thick armor to a good double-use QF 75mm cannon (both tank and infantry). Equipped with the same cavity and tower as previous Cavalier and Centaur models, it was powered by a new Rolls Royce Meteor engine with which it was able to reach an impressive maximum speed of 67 km / h.
