Tiger's development began in 1937. The resulting machine then entered mass production in 1942 and eventually produced a total of 1,347 pieces. The design of the Tiger was iconic, with a suspension similar to the Panther and a hull extending across the tracks. Thanks to it fit a wide tower with the infamous 8.8 cm cannon Kw.K 36 L / 56 . Tigers first engaged in the battle of the Leningrad and soon participated in most of the engagements in which the Germans deployed their armored technology. It was the first German heavy tank in World War II, which woke real horror between the Allied and Soviet tank units composed of Shermans and the T-34.
