Wilga or Žluva developed in Poland in the mid-60s, is among the aircraft, which some consider undeniably ugly - but no scoffer can not deny that it was a successful "workhorse" who has done a lot of doing useful work including transport, police patrolling, towing gliders ... Very distinctive shapes of aircraft with short takeoff and landing are largely due to the lack of flat-performance engines manufactured in the "eastern bloc". While "imperialist Cessna and Piper" enjoyed the favors of Lycoming and Continental, Czech, Polish and Russian engineers had to "somehow Pytlíková" originating prewar Czech inverting engines or Russian radial to swallow (and sputtered) oil as readily as gasoline .
