Spektrum smart batteries respond to recent trends and include electronics that ensure safe and especially easy to use. The integrated electronics in the battery constantly evaluate the voltage of the individual battery cells and the temperature of the entire battery, optimizing the charging of individual cells for the shortest possible charging time. When you connect the Smart LiPo battery to the Smart charger, the charger reads all the necessary parameters (battery type, number of cells, capacity, charging current) directly from the battery. Charging has never been easier!

New IC3 and IC5 connectors

The new IC3 and IC5 connectors have a modern design with an emphasis on safety and simplicity . The contacts are made of gilded pins and cores (in case of IC3 connector with a diameter of 3.5 mm, in case of connector IC5 with a diameter of 5 mm). The connector is also equipped with a data conductor for communication with the charger. When using Smart chargers, it is not necessary to connect the balance connector. Connectors IC3, resp. IC5 is backward compatible with EC3 or EC3 connector. EC5.

As already mentioned, connectors have been designed with an emphasis on safe and easy to use. The connectors cannot be reversed, the contacts and soldered connections are covered with a plastic cover.

To charge the batteries with conventional chargers, the standard JST-XH service connector is routed from the battery.

Efficient charger cooling

Two internal cooling fans keep the charger at a safe operating temperature, which is essential when quickly charging larger batteries. The fans do not run continuously, but only when needed. When charging up to approx. 50 W, the fans do not run at all.
