Information about the original:

The Boeing EA-18 G Growler was designed based on a specific requirement of the US Navy. It sought to acquire a new carrier-based aircraft specializing in electronic warfare to replace the aging Grumman EA-6B Prowler. The Growler is directly derived from the F/A-18 F Super Hornet tandem fighter and retains all of its major aerodynamic features and characteristics. General Electric engines allow the Growler to reach a top speed of Mach 1.8, and its flight performance is similar to that of America's flagship aircraft carrier. The two-man crew consists of a pilot and a WSO (Weapon Systems Operator). The 20mm cannon from the F/A-18 armament was replaced by a special system for electronic warfare in the Growler. In addition, the Growler can carry high and low band jammers, additional fuel tanks and AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles on its pylons.
