Original information:
The North American FJ-2 Fury was created at the request of the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps for an onboard version of the then-newly introduced F-86 Saber. Serial production of FJ-2 Fury aircraft began in 1952. The aircraft underwent the necessary structural changes to the airframe, the landing gear was strengthened and was equipped with tilting wing ends to optimize space on board. Thanks to the General Electric J47 jet engine, the Fury achieved good flight performance and a maximum speed of 1,086 km / h. The armament of the aircraft was in the form of 4 Colt Mk.12 cannons, mounted in the bow. The later version of the FJ-3 was equipped with a new engine, which brought with it a further improvement in flight characteristics.
