The American sports high-wing aircraft manufactured since 1945 has been an eternal rival to the Piper - and, let's add, successful, the Champions have sold over 10,000. In addition, they have created the very successful Citabria and Decathlon models. Compared to Piper, he offered a more spacious and comfortable cabin with a better view; it was also advantageous that while Piper was in the one-man cast from the rear seat, the Champion from the front.

Our kit is an ideal first step for model builders who want to start building mini-packs powered by rubber bunch (as a model to gain basic experience with classical construction, we recommend to build one of the gliders A3 or A1, such as our Sojka, Owl, Spark or Olympic ). You will learn to build a "fuselage" skeleton of the fuselage and wings, paper and paint, prepare and treat a rubber bunch, fly a free-flying model - just all the basic skills of pure classic modeling. Yet the construction is not much, you do not expect hundreds of working hours in the workshop, thanks to highly pre-worked parts it goes like butter.

Kit of free flying semiscale models of American sport aircraft designed for driving rubber band. The model is a very simple classic all-bale construction in plaster with laser-carved wooden parts, and plastic parts made by injection molding.

The fuselage is constructed using the typical mini-ketar technology of two sides glued from balsa longitudinal beams and partitions directly on the plan, which later connect the partitions and partitions to create a spatial structure. The wing is a classic construction of laser-carved ribs and beams, the tail surface of the plate is glued from balsa beams.

The Aeronca Champion is also suitable for converting to a miniature RC model with electric drive - although the construction plan does not offer this option, it should not be a big problem for an experienced modeler and pilot. For example, you can try to use the powerplant and onboard electronics from our Mini Bee.

Kit contains: balsa pre-cut parts, balsa beams, plastic propeller with shaft, rubber bundle, plastic wheels, clear foil for "glazing" cabin, steel wire for chassis and other small parts, lining paper, sheet of wet decals, building plan.

Care of the rubber bundle: Wash the new rubber carefully in soapy water and allow to dry. Then lubricate it with castor oil (sold in pharmacies) or silicone grease to lubricate fishing lines (available in fishing tackle shops). After flying, remove the model bundle and keep it in a closed plastic bag. Lubricated rubber bundle unwinds more smoothly and with less friction - gives more power and lasts longer. It is also advisable to run the new bundle first - for the first 2-3 years, record only 80-100 turns before it can safely record more.
