Characteristics

Do you want to try driving an RC model and don't want to invest too much? The micro model of the Sport Cub 2 airplane with a wingspan of 0.6 m is an excellent choice, because the set contains everything necessary for flight and what's more, it has an integrated electronic flight position protection SAFE® (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) . There will be no crisis situations, because the electronics prevent the model from tilting more and when you let go of the control levers of the controller, the model will level itself into horizontal flight. In addition, if you fly as an advanced without SAFE safety protection and you get into a situation where you lose control of the steering, you just need to quickly press the Panic rescue button and the model will immediately level off into horizontal flight. The package includes an access code to install the RealFlight® Trainer Edition simulator! The RTF version comes with everything you need to fly, including a battery, charger and controller, which features a USB-C port for direct connection to a computer.

The RTF version includes a Steam® key as a bonus to download and activate the training version of the RC flight simulator RealFlight® Trainer Edition . The simulator features a range of Horizon Hobby's most popular training aircraft and helicopters, including the Sport Cub 2, and virtual flight instructor lessons. This training can help new pilots learn to fly successfully on a desktop computer at home or on a laptop. Simply connect the included Spektrum MLP6 2.4GHz transmitter to a compatible USB port on your computer using a USB-C cable (not included) and you can fly for up to 100 minutes. But then you can buy the full version RealFlight Trainer Edition or Evolution and you can fly as long as you want!

Learn to fly alone! The finished and assembled painted model is ready to fly, just charge the LiPol battery with the included charger, insert 4 AA batteries into the transmitter and you're good to go. A stable model with pleasant flight characteristics is ideal for beginners. The optimal size of the model allows it to fly even in light winds, the model is unobtrusive and friendly to pilot errors. The landing gear will allow you to take off from a smooth surface
even drive on the ground.

RTF - ready to fly

The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) set includes a transmitter equipped with Spektrum™ DSMX® 2.4 GHz technology, pencil batteries for the transmitter, a 3.7V 150mAh LiPol battery and a USB charger. This means that you do not need to buy anything, but the box contains everything you need to operate the model. You charge the battery and you can go flying. You can use the transmitter with the included trial version of the RealFlight Trainer Edition RC flight simulator!

RealFlight simulator included

Included in the set is the RealFlight Flight Simulator Trainer Edition, which includes Horizon Hobby's most popular training aircraft from Blade®, HobbyZone® and E-flite® - including the Sport Cub S. It also includes virtual flight instructor lessons to teach you how to fly successfully, so you can practice flying on a desktop computer at home or on a laptop. Using a USB-C cable (not included), you can connect the included SLT6 controller/transmitter to a compatible USB port on your computer and fly for up to 100 minutes. After that, if you are interested, you can buy the full version of RealFlight Trainer Edition or Evolution and fly without restrictions.

Finished model

The Sport Cub S model airplane is a replica of the real Cub Crafters Sport Cub large machine and is fully assembled, painted and equipped with electronics and propulsion. It also has a functional undercarriage with a steerable spur wheel, so you can drive on the ground and take off and land on the undercarriage.

Lightweight construction

Flight characteristics are directly dependent on the weight of the aircraft model, therefore the model's kite is made of EPS material, which is very light and reasonably durable. Thanks to this, the model has a low surface load and therefore flies well.

Optional floats

Do you have a body of water nearby and want to try flying a seaplane? Fit the Super Cub model with optional floats! With the EFLUA1190 float kit, you'll be able to assemble it in minutes and then you can start flying over the water immediately.

Skill level 1

Models marked with skill level 1 are suitable for beginners with radio controlled models as no previous experience is needed to fly them! Thanks to the included PC simulator and the features of the model with SAFE function, your first attempts will be much easier.

FLIGHT ENVELOPE PROTECTION SAFE

Beginner mode

A beginner, it has a limited tilt in a corner as well as ascent and descent, when the levers are released into neutral, the model stabilizes in a horizontal position, the engine speed is regulated according to ascent or descent, and it is also possible to use electronic assistance during take-off and landing.

Advanced mode

Advanced mode allows the model to tilt more, but it will not roll onto its back or fall. Flight positions are limited to about 60° pitching and tilting. There is more control freedom and minimal flight corrections are made.

Experienced mod

In the Experienced flight mode, control is completely free with no restrictions on flight positions. You can fly on your back and perform acrobatic maneuvers.

Panic Recovery - Panic flight recovery

If you ever lose control of the aircraft in more advanced flight modes, simply switch to beginner mode and release the control sticks. SAFE® Plus technology automatically returns the aircraft to level flight.

We recommend to buy

The model is completely assembled and ready to fly. Includes a set of AA pencil batteries for the transmitter, a LiPol drive battery and a LiPol USB charger. A spare LiPol battery can be recommended.

To power the USB charger, we recommend using a powerful Network universal USB adapter (source) 3.1A (15W)

Protective covers for accumulators

Protective packaging is intended to limit the risk associated with the transport and charging of accumulators. LiPo accumulators, while maintaining small dimensions and low weight, can provide high discharge currents and have a large capacity for a long driving time. Conversely, the LiPo battery is especially susceptible to mechanical damage.
