Characteristics

French mortar model kit in 1:17 scale. At the end of the 17th century, most French fortresses were equipped with this weapon. The large-diameter barrel could fire projectiles in the form of explosive balls, or perhaps iron scrap
like shrapnel. The range of this predecessor of the mortar was, however, very short. The structure consists of pre-cut wooden parts and metal cast ornaments.

Construction difficulty

Although it is a model for beginner modellers, it is necessary to keep in mind that a certain manual skill of the builder and the ability to solve construction problems are assumed. The instructions determine the construction procedure, but cannot include the technology of processing materials, the method of gluing, staining, sanding or painting. These are classic modeling procedures that everyone chooses according to their possibilities and habits.

The model does not have an excess of details, it is simpler, therefore significantly less laborious and time-consuming, thanks to the simpler construction procedure, it should be assembled by an average skilled modeler or children in modeling circles.

Modeling tools and mat

Building model ships requires the right tools. We recommend an excellent set of Modelcraft tools for ship modelers (set of 12 pieces), or Modelcraft tools for modelers (set of 18 pieces). We also recommend the purchase of nylon clamps and indispensable modeling pins. We recommend a modeling mat for editing, precise cutting, gluing parts and also as table protection.
