The model for this model is the Longship named after the discovery site Skuldelev 2. The original was built mainly of oak wood around 1060 in Dublin, Ireland. The ship reached length 30m and width 3.8m. 60-100 Viking warriors could sail on the ship. The boat was propelled by a large rectangular sail and in case of no wind 60 oars.
