The Knarr is a type of Viking merchant ship designed for long-distance trade. Knarr had a very robust construction to withstand adverse weather conditions on the high seas. The model for this model is Knarr, found near the Danish town of Roskilde, named after the site as Skuldelev 1. The ship was built in Norway between 1030 and 1050, mostly from oak and pine. The length of the ship was 16.3m and the carrying capacity of 24t.
