The model is from the time of the Battle of Salamis (480 BC). The crew consisted of 170 rowers and about 30 warriors. Under favorable conditions, the trireme could fly at speeds of up to 12 miles per hour. The tririum's main weapon was a bronze ram that penetrated the side of enemy vessels. The main drive was rowing. The sails were used only for longer voyages. During the battle, the sails and mast were laid and the ship was propelled only by oars.

Czech company Dusek Ship Kits

is a traditional manufacturer of model kits for non-floating models of historic ships. The range of products is very wide, the offer includes ships from the period before our era to sailboats from the last century. However, the domain is historic wooden ships of the golden age of sailboats, such as merchant, war or royal English, Spanish galleys, schooners, ships of famous discoverers or Viking and for us exotic East Asian ships.

Anyone who longs for their own self-made boat must be prepared to do so for weeks or months in the evenings. It means having a certain skill and knowledge of the lever with various materials, adhesives, paints and varnishes. The kit mainly contains basic building materials, building materials and a number of small or miniature components and decorations. However, this work will give you an insight into the secrets of ship construction, the history of real ships and often can lead to a community of people obsessed with the same passion for ship modeling.

We recommend buying

We recommend buying tools, glue and paints for the construction.

Modeling tools and pad

Suitable tools are needed to build ship models. We recommend an excellent set of Modelcraft tools for ship modelers (set of 12 pcs), or Modelcraft tools for modelers (set of 18 pcs). We also recommend the purchase of nylon clamps and indispensable model pins. We recommend a modeling pad for adjustment, precise cutting, gluing of parts and also as protection of the table.

  • Modeling knife or scalpel
  • Mini drill
  • Drills with diameters of 0.5 mm to 3 mm
  • Abrasive papers of various grain sizes
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
