Kit of the non-floating model MAMOLI Lexington in scale 1: 100 from 1775. The ship belonged to the ships that had to be converted during the war against England in 1775/77 in Philadelphia, to warships. Lexington belonged to a small fleet of merchant ships that had to be converted during the war against England in 1775/77 in Philadelphia at speed into warships. Under the command of Captain John Barry, Lexington fought a victorious battle against Corvette Edward on April 7, 1776. In the same year he was then hijacked by the British frigate Pearl. However, the crew miraculously managed to take over their own ship and return to Baltimore. The following year, Lexington sailed for France and participated with other ships in a series of battles in the Bay of Biscay, the English Channel and along the English coast with English ships. On September 20, 1777, Lexington was captured on the way home by the English cutter Alert. After more than three hours of gunfire, the crew decimated by enemy fire had to surrender to the British.
