COREL Half Moon 1609 1:50 kit

A 1:50 scale COREL Half Moon model kit from 1609. This ship made Dutch Capson Hudson of Halve Maen famous, who found a large bay on the east coast of America where the city was later founded in New York. The package includes wooden parts, moldings and a number of fittings, rigging, canvas for sails, plans, etc.

In 1609, Dutch Captain Hudson of Halve Maen was sent to search for the then-supposed northwest passage from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. He did not find this way, but a large bay on the east coast of America, into which flowed a 500 km long river. The city of New Amsterdam, now New York, was founded at this estuary in 1610, and the river became the Hudson River.
