New generation of programmable microprocessor controllers for AC motors without sensors ("brushless, sensorless") for recreational and sports aircraft models powered by LiPo / Li-ion / LiFe batteries. Compared to the previous generation of FOXY controllers, the programming options have been expanded with a number of new functions, and the G2 controllers use advanced optimized control technology that significantly improves gas response and power stage control efficiency. The design of the controller takes into account the high long-term load capacity and durability, which is required in models with a larger number of servos. The controllers are equipped with a powerful switching power supply stabilizer BEC with an optional output voltage providing power to the receiver and servos from the drive battery. A special LED programming card FOXY G2, which is supplied separately, is used for easy setting of the controller.

DESCRIPTION AND FUNCTIONS OF THE CONTROLLER

  • Controller equipped with a high-performance 32-bit ARM M4 microprocessor with a clock frequency of up to 72 MHz; is compatible with most AC motors.
  • Suitable for the vast majority of aircraft AC motors powered by 2-4S LiPo / Li-ion / LiFe batteries.
  • Special power stabilizer for the microprocessor for high immunity to interference and reducing the risk of loss of control.
  • Optimized control technology significantly improves gas response and power stage control efficiency, lowers the controller temperature.
  • The technology of optimized control significantly improves the gas response and the efficiency of the power stage control, reduces the temperature of the regulator. The BEC is separate from the other circuits of the controller, it can maintain its proper function even when the power board with the MOSFET transistors of the controller burns out.
  • Normal / Soft / Very Soft take-off modes are suitable for normal propeller planes as well as models with blowers. / li>
  • Easy programming and setting with the help of a transmitter or LED programming card FOXY G2.
  • A special programming cable for connecting the controller to the LED programming card allows the user to program the controller anytime and anywhere (for details, see the operating instructions for the FOXY G2 LED programming card).
  • A range of protection functions: start-up protection, controller thermal protection, capacitor thermal protection, overload protection, overcurrent protection, abnormal supply voltage protection and control signal loss protection effectively extends the life of the controller.
  • Gas range calibration for perfect adaptation to the control signal from your RC kit.

PROGRAMMABLE FUNCTIONS

  • Brake type: Brake off, normal brake (with braking intensity adjustable in 7 levels), proportional brake (controlled by throttle control: 0-20% of throttle control deflection corresponds to 100-0% of brake, 20-100% of control deflection corresponds to 0-100 % gas).
  • Brake force: The braking intensity is adjustable from Level 1 to Level 7 for "Normal brake" mode.
  • Motor shutdown method: Soft shutdown: The controller gradually reduces the power to 50% of full power within 3 seconds after activating the voltage protection. Hard shutdown: The motor is switched off immediately.
  • Number of LiPo cells: We recommend setting manually for 100% reliable voltage protection function. The controller automatically calculates the number of cells of the connected battery according to the "3.7 V per cell" rule, if you select automatic detection.
  • Voltage protection: The threshold level of voltage protection is adjustable in the range 2.8-3.8 V / cell; the protection can also be switched off completely.
  • BEC voltage: The BEC voltage of the supply stabilizer is fixed (5.2 V).
  • Start-up: Normal start-up (immediate start-up), Soft start-up (slow start for engines with large propellers, gearbox or smaller blowers), Very soft start-up (with very slow start for engines with large propellers, gearbox or blowers from 90 mm). / li>
  • Timing: Adjustable from 0-30 °.
  • Direction of rotation: Clockwise / Counterclockwise.
  • DEO freewheel: This function can be switched on or off; may result in better linearity or smoother gas response.

PROTECTIVE FUNCTIONS OF THE REGULATOR

  • Start-up protection: The controller measures the motor speed during start-up. If the speed stops increasing or its increase is not stable, the controller evaluates it as an incorrect start. If the throttle is less than 15% at this point, the controller will automatically try to restart the engine; if the throttle is more than 15%, you must pull the throttle all the way down to restart the engine.
  • Controller thermal protection: The motor will "stall" if the controller temperature exceeds 110 ° C, indicating that thermal protection has been activated. If you pull the throttle control below 60% at that moment, the "stall" will disappear and the regulator will supply power corresponding to the throttle position. If you move the throttle above 60%, the "stall" will reappear. The temperature of the controller at start-up must not exceed 70 ° C, otherwise the motor cannot be started.
  • Protection against loss of gas signal: The controller switches off the engine immediately if the signal is missing for 0.25 s to prevent even greater damage and risks from a rapidly rotating rotor or propeller. As soon as a normal signal is received, the controller resumes normal operation.
  • Overload protection: The controller switches off the motor or restarts automatically if its load suddenly increases to a very high value.
  • Overcurrent protection: The controller switches off the motor immediately if the peak current consumption exceeds the maximum permitted value; then it resumes normal operation. If the current consumption still exceeds the maximum permitted value, the motor is switched off completely.

Tip: When switching on the controller for the first time, first calibrate the gas range according to the instructions. Only then can the controller be used and other parameters set with the help of the transmitter or the LED programming card.
