TRX-4 chassis

The chassis is built of two steel profiles, which ensure sufficient rigidity of the chassis. Thanks to the engine located in the front part, a sufficient load on the front wheels is ensured, so that the model can easily drive even on steep slopes. The battery is located in the axis of the chassis, so the model is precisely balanced and does not tilt while driving.

To reduce maintenance, the lower part of the chassis is fitted with covers which, together with the fenders (which are part of the body), prevent excessive dirt from entering the model's chassis.

Axles with axle gearbox

The TRX-4 chassis uses gantry axles with an axle gearbox. The axle transmission increases ground clearance, reduces stress on differentials, transmissions, cardan shafts and further reduces torsional force - the model tilts less.

The front wheels can be turned by an angle of 45 °, the steering is provided by a Traxxas 2075X servo with metal gears. Thanks to the new chassis, the model achieved a great approach angle.

Two-speed transmission

The model is equipped with a two-speed transmission. The gear change is controlled by a red rocker switch on the transmitter. This solution makes the TRX-4 a very versatile model that can drive slowly and quickly - as you need .

Lockable differentials

The differential locks are independently controlled by 2 servos. Power from the servos is transmitted via cables to the differentials. The shutters are controlled by a three-position switch on the transmitter and provide the following combinations:

• Both differentials are open
• Only the front differential is closed
• Both differentials are closed

GTS oil dampers

Four oil-filled GTS shock absorbers provide smooth damping and perfect driving characteristics. The aluminum bodies of the shock absorbers are equipped with a nut for adjusting the spring preload. Special sealing X-rings ensure maximum tightness of the damper around the piston rod.

Detailed processing

Great emphasis was placed on detailed processing - as usual, the model is officially licensed by Jaguar Land Rover. In addition to the detailed body with accessories, the model has functional fenders, detailed wheel suspension. LED lighting can be added as an optional accessory.

Power steering

The model is controlled by a digital servo Traxxas 2075X high-torque, with a torque of 9 kg.cm. The servo is equipped with two ball bearings on the square shaft and metal gears for maximum durability. Waterproof * construction.

Transmission and differential servos

The model is equipped with a total of three waterproof * micro servos 2065 with a torque of 2.5 kg.cm. Two servos independently control the front and rear differential locks. The third servo then shifts the two-speed transmission.

Titan 21T engine

The model is powered by a Titan 21T 550 DC motor. The motor provides smooth running from low revs. For better cooling, a propeller blowing air to the rotor is integrated in the motor.

DC regulator

The heart of the Traxxas model is the XL-5 HV DC electronic controller. The controller is designed to be powered by a 2-cell or 3-cell LiPo battery. The model can also be powered by 6-7-cell NiMH batteries. Easy selection of driving modes and other settings, using the EZ-SET button. Indicator status indication by LED diode. LVD protection against LiPo battery undercharge. Thermal protection. Water-resistant * construction.

The Traxxas XL-5 HV controller supports 5 driving modes:

1. Sport : Driving forward, brake and reverse
2. Race : Forward and brake. Reverse is not available
3. Training : Forward travel limited to 50% power, brake 100% and reverse limited to 50%. this mode is suitable for children
4. Trail : Forward, brake, reverse. The controls near neutral are very fine
5. Crawl : Drive forward, brake in neutral and straight reverse.

Four-channel RC set Traxxas TQi with Bluetooth

In addition to precise and reliable control, the four-channel transmitter is also equipped with a slot for placing a Bluetooth module (sold separately). The Bluetooth module allows you to connect the RC model with the clear graphic application Traxxas Link, which you can install on your Smartphone free of charge.

Traxxas Link App is a powerful application that gives you complete control over the operation and tuning of the RC model Traxxas with stunning visualization and absolute accuracy of settings. Traxxas Link can display telemetry data that provides the model in real time, such as speed, rpm, temperature, battery voltage and model tilt. You can share RC model settings, you can create any number of profiles for a specific track or user, eg children. Everything in an application with brilliant graphics, which is a matter of course from Traxxas.

Telemetry - model tilt

Using the wireless Bluetooth module (sold separately) and the Traxxas link app, it is possible to monitor the tilt of the model on your phone. To display additional telemetry (battery voltage, speed, temperature) it is necessary to install telemetry sensors.

Traxxas TQi receiver

RC receiver Traxxas TQi 5 channels. TSM with telemetry for Traxxas TQi transmitters. Easy operation, pairing with a button. LED status indication. 3-axis MEMS sensors are integrated in the receiver to learn the position of the receiver.

The 5-channel receiver is also equipped with two connectors for connecting RPM (speed) and I / O (voltage / temperature) telemetry sensors.

Furthermore, an expansion telemetry module can be connected to the 4-pin connector, to which you can connect up to 6 other sensors, including a very accurate GPS speed sensor.

Recommended LiPo batteries

The model can be operated on a 2 or 3 cell LiPo battery. A 2-cell LiPo battery (7.4 V) is fully sufficient for normal riding. A 3-cell LiPo battery can be used for operation with a higher speed range.

Recommended NiMH batteries

NiMH batteries are not difficult to handle and are therefore suitable if the RC model car is operated by children (NiMH batteries will not be destroyed by complete discharge). However, NiMH batteries have a lower capacity and higher weight, so driving time will be slightly shorter.

• For normal riding NiMH battery 8.4 V 3000 mAh
• For maximum driving time NiMH battery 8.4 V 5000 mAh

Wireless connection to the phone

Lighting - constant

For a breathtaking appearance on evening adventure trips, we recommend fitting the model with complete, original LED lighting for the TRX-4 Defender. The lighting not only looks great, but also perfectly illuminates the road. All LED lights of this lighting are constantly lit. The kit cannot be upgraded to Pro Scale later.

For Scale lighting - multifunctional

By installing Pro Scale lighting, you get all the realistic functions like on a real car (functional brake and reversing lights, function turn signals and warning lights, adjustable headlight intensity). Possibility of remote control of lighting by phone via Bluetooth module. Lighting installation on the Defender requires a Pro Scale module and a Pro Scale lighting kit.

Winch

The winch is an integral part of every expedition model that will pull you out of any terrain. The original Traxxas reel is precisely designed to scale for TRX models. The winch is controlled by a remote control and develops a pulling force of up to 4.5 kg. To install the winch, it is necessary to add a tuning bumper - (more in the description of the item).

Shipping bag

Carry the RC model comfortably and safely in a Robitronic carrying bag. The bag is airtight and has an elastic edge that can be adjusted to the model. Thanks to the Velcro strap, the model is easy to carry. The synthetic material can be easily cleaned with water or soap suds if required.

Accessories for normal operation

For normal operation of the Traxxas RC car, you need screw glue, high-quality tire glue, silicone shock absorber oil and a set of screwdrivers. From our range we recommend an affordable set of tools for cars.

The screw glue drips the thread or the head of the screw, which fixes it and the vibrations caused by driving do not allow the screw connection to loosen. The screw adhesive has a special composition that allows the screw connection to be easily loosened with a reasonable torque without damaging the screw head. Never use ordinary instant glue, it could be impossible to loosen a screw glued in this way at all!

The tire glue adheres the tires to the rim of the disc. It is always necessary that the tire is firmly glued to the wheel rim around the entire circumference! If the tire is not stuck around the entire circumference, it may rupture. The tire adhesive has a special composition that is able to bond materials such as rubber or nylon, and at the same time the adhesive is flexible after hardening. Never use ordinary instant glue - it is not flexible after hardening and cracks in the tire would gradually form around the rims!

Occasionally it is necessary to add silicone oil to the model's shock absorbers. During normal operation, there is only a slight leakage of silicone oil along the shock absorber piston rods. If the damper piston rod surface or seal condition is in poor condition, the oil leak may be large. So-called repair kits are supplied for these cases. In the range of tuning parts, piston rods with an extremely hard TiN (titanium nitride) coating are supplied with all shock absorbers. TiN-coated piston rods are easily recognizable by their golden-green color.
