Titanic has achieved fame as a result of a tragic event that occurred during its first voyage on April 14, 1912. The Queen of the Sea was supposed to transfer 1,316 passengers from Southampton to New York with White Star Line. At night at about 3:40 pm in the Atlantic, the British came across a glacier that caused 100 meters of starboard scarring. When Titanic sank at about 0.20 on April 15, 1912, 2206 people died on board. The 46.329 BRT vessel had a length of 267 m and a displacement of 66,000 tons.
