Sales and registration of modeling fuels containing nitromethane

One of the explosives precursors subject to restrictions under Regulation (EU) 2019/1148 is nitromethane ; as a result, from 1 February 2021, it will be possible to sell model fuels containing more than 16% by weight of nitromethane only to consumers with a valid permit issued by the Czech Mining Authority (ČBÚ) http://www.cbusbs.cz ; at the time of sale, their identity must be verified and the sale recorded. The records must be kept for at least 5 years and provided for inspection to the competent authorities (CBU) upon request.

When purchasing online, a scanned copy of a valid permit and ID must be sent to the seller.

I have a bottle of fuel at home containing 25% nitromethane - what should I do?

Previously purchased products containing more than 16% by weight of nitromethane purchased over-the-counter or under a permit issued before 1.22021 may be used and stored by their holders until 2.22022 (or until the expiry of the original permit - whichever occurs previously). After that, it will be possible only on the basis of the currently valid permit issued after 1 February 2021.
