Bell P-39 Airacobra was an American WW2 fighter aircraft, served in the US Air Force and Great Britain, and a large part of the produced machines were sent to the Soviet Union as a bailout. The P-39 Airacobra was the least popular World War II fighter aircraft by US pilots. The reason was an unconventional concept, where the engine was located behind the cockpit near the center of gravity of the machine, while small moments improved dexterity. The propeller was driven by a connecting shaft from the engine that passed under the pilot. The front part was used for the placement of a massive deck armament. Another unusual feature was the use of a nose-leg chassis. The P-39Q version was intended for the USSR. The first aircraft in March 1943 were equipped with power units V-1710-85. Armament was a 37 mm cannon and a total of four 12.7 mm machine guns, which were two in the bow and in the casings under the wing. Soviet aces like Pokryškin, Bobrov, Glinka and others were flying with them. Of the total of 9,558 machines, the Soviet Union took 4,578.

The E-flite® P-39 Airacobra 1.2m is a high-level semi-scale model including panel engraving, exhaust models, detachable tank, three-blade propeller and more. It has a three-wheel electric retractable landing gear with a steerable front leg, sprung legs and dummy wheels with covers installed. To increase flight realism and improve flight and take-off characteristics, the model has functional flaps / p>

The model drive is provided by the BL15 850Kv brushless motor and the 40A AC compatible LiPol brushless controller. The lightweight but durable EPO design is molded, so the model has precise shapes with numerous details. Also installed are 9g servo rudders SA330. The wing is one-piece and bolts to the fuselage, connectors with an innovative hands-free system reduce assembly time. Although the wing can be dismantled, the model is compact in size and fits into the trunk of the car without the need for dismantling.

Stabilization of AS3X ™

The Spektrum AR636A is equipped with AS3X technology to help stabilize the model in flight. The receiver incorporates three-axis MEMS gyro and accelerometer, and thanks to electronic stabilization, model control is simplified eg in windy weather. The model reacts much like a much larger model, and its flight is calm without preserving its full controllability. AS3X delivers more steering control.

SAFE Select ™ technology for beginners

Thanks to the SAFE technology used, the less experienced pilot can drive the model . The SAFE system prevents tilt over cornering and also reduces climb and descent. By simply dropping the control levers, the model returns to horizontal flight. These features will be especially appreciated by novice pilots who are not yet fully confident in driving models.

As the name SAFE Select suggests, this is an optional feature - it is up to you whether you want to use or disable SAFE technology. The pairing method sets whether the SAFE function should be on or off. In addition, the SAFE function can be turned off or on using a free channel of the transmitter.

Benefits of SAFE Select ™:
  • It limits the maximum tilt of the model, thus preventing the model from spinning.
  • Automatically puts the model in horizontal flight when the transmitter control levers are released
  • With a free channel, the SAFE system can be turned on or off during flight.

Electric retractable landing gear

A great advantage is the use of an electric 3-point retractable landing gear that has a controlled nose leg. In flight, the model is believably realistic and, thanks to its clean lines, it also performs better. In taxiing you will control the direction and you will be surprised by the ease of driving at start and landing. On the grass, the model will not flip over to the propeller and the operation is thus much safer than with the spur gear.

Important elements of the model's authenticity are not only high-quality surface finish and color, but also a cockpit. The dashboard is a dashboard and a realistically colored pilot pilot.

Function flaps

The Airacobra model has wing flaps installed that effectively reduce take-off and landing speeds. You can also make spectacular low speeds at minimum speed.

3S-4S compatible drive

The drive unit is completely installed in the factory and is equipped with a powerful AC motor, robust controller and three blade propeller. The battery can be used with LiPol 3S 2200-3000mAh, for realistic flying, or you can install a 4S LiPol battery for faster speed and vertical performance without the need for any adjustments.

Easy and fast assembly

If you transport the model with the wing removed, the assembly work will be facilitated by the hands-free system of servo connectors. When fitting the wing, only the wing is mounted on the fuselage and fixed with screws. The servo connectors fit into the positions themselves without the need to plug the aileron, chassis and damper connectors separately.
