Original information:
Because Hurricanes and Spitfires of the British RAF had to defend their homeland, older aircraft in North Africa and the Middle East could be replaced by newer aircrafts after the arrival of a sufficient number of American fighter planes Curtiss Tomahawk. They were able to withstand a lot of damage in the fight and played an important role in the battlefields in particular. For the Luftwaffe and Regia Aeronautics, they posed a major threat.
Although this model is not normally among the best fighter planes of the Second World War, it has been shown to have a crucial influence on the development of the conflict over the first two years. The Americans produced it according to a really high standard, and at the outbreak of the war its production was in full swing. So Tomahawk could soon be hosted by allied troops abroad, prompting their air force to grow and at the same time lessening the pressure on domestic production programs.
Virtually this new fighter allowed the British Royal Air Force to continue fighting on many fronts, without fundamentally signaling the operations of its existing units. The greatest benefit was on the battlefields in North Africa and the Middle East, where finally RAF and Commonwealth machines equipped a total of sixteen escaders and forced the Luftwaffe to send more of their own machines to these queues. In the hands of a capable pilot, Tomahawk managed to cope with most of the Axis aircraft he could encounter in the fight.
