La-5FN was one of the best single-engine aircraft of World War II. Enemy pilots should be guided by the principle of "not losing speed and avoiding such a long air duel". On July 6, 1943, the Soviet aerospace escort, Alexander Gorovets, set off in the battle of Kurska with his La-5FN to fight with the enemy bombers, and during this single flight he scored an incredible nine hits.
