Original information:
The Hurricane fighter was developed to replace British pre-war biplans, such as Hawker Fury and Gloster Gauntlet. When it was revealed to the public in 1935, it was considered a truly revolutionary machine. By the start of World War II, however, his earliest versions of the canvas-covered wing and double-propelled propellers were behind the performance of the best German aircraft. However, when these first Hurricanes were equipped with triple propellers, they became very successful during the Battle of Britain in 1940.
