Original information:
After Bf 109, the Fw 190 was the second standard fighter aircraft of the German Luftwaffe. It has proven itself not only as a very versatile but also durable machine. In large numbers since the beginning of 1944 it was also manufactured in the form of a heavy fighter bomber Fw 190 F-8. The F Series was developed in 1943 specifically for ground attacks. On the five outer pylons, the aircraft was able to carry a 700 kg bomb. Armored armor panels and longitudinal wing brace reinforcements have been reinforced in the main chassis area, otherwise the F-8 corresponds to the A-8 fighter. Already after the mass production began, a new propeller with wooden leaves and a bubble cockpit cover with a reinforced armor protecting the pilot were added. From the beginning of 1944 until the end of the war, German troops got into the hands of over 6500 Fw 190s, either in the A-8 or F-8 versions.
