Original information:
At the beginning of World War II, the Hawker Hurricane was the most widely used fighter aircraft of the British Royal Air Force. As a power unit, it had twelve-cylinder, liquid-cooled Rolls-Royce Merlin engines with an output of over 1,000 horsepower, thanks to which it could fly faster than 500 km / h. In addition, eight 7.7 mm Browning machine guns, which formed his armament, guaranteed him solid firepower. On the one hand, he was slower and more obsolete in terms of aerodynamics than his famous "colleague", by whose side he was deployed in action in the Battle of Britain, on the other hand, he was more durable, cheaper and easier to maintain. Thanks to these qualities, he significantly contributed to the victory of the RAF in defending his homeland, but in the further course of the war gradually liberated the position of the front fighter to more modern Spitfires.
