Tank model for gluing. Size: 1:35; 21.3 cm
Model information:
The M36 tank destroyer, officially the 90 mm Gun Motor Carriage, was used by the US military during World War II. It was built on the hull of an M10 tank destroyer, which rode on a reliable chassis and with the propulsion of the M4 Sherman tank, and was given oblique armor. Its origin dates back to 1943 and first came into combat in October 1944 in Europe, where it partially replaced the M10 fighter. However, when the Americans clashed with the heaviest Wehrmacht tanks at the end of the year, they found that they would urgently need more fighters with 90mm cannons, and between October and December Grand Blanc Arsenal rebuilt another 187 standard M4A3 medium tanks into new M36B1s. These were quickly transported to European battlefields and deployed to combat alongside the standard M36.
