The 1:8 scale ARRMA TLR Tuned TYPHON 4WD Buggy RC car model is equipped with high-end TLR parts with greater strength, long life and a wide range of driving characteristics. For your entry into competitive racing, you have a ready-made assembled car that has powerful Spektrum Firma drive components installed and is equipped with a Spektrum 2.4GHz SLT3 RC kit. The package contains everything necessary for operation, except for batteries and a charger.
The ARRMA TLR Tuned TYPHON 4WD buggy has a wide range of chassis tuning options for racing use. With a powerful AC motor and 4S - 6S LiPo drive , the model will immediately hit the track. You can ride training on the 4S battery, but only with the power of the 6S LiPo, the model will perform stunts, long jumps and sharp driving on your favorite off-road track. The model is equipped with special TLR Tuned 7075-T6 aluminum parts: chassis plate, steering rack, adjustable upper and lower suspension hangers, shock bodies and front and rear shock towers. All these parts are laser etched with the TLR Tuned logo. Oil-filled adjustable shocks feature machined pistons, precision guides and exclusive sealing X-rings. The shocks are attached to the towers using high-strength Extreme Bash (EXB) mounts.
The TLR Tuned TYPHON 4WD Race Buggy is equipped with a heavy-duty drivetrain that can withstand extreme driving, with all-metal differential gears, gearboxes and heavy-duty steel drive shafts. On extra-stiff wheel hubs are lightweight wheels with low rolling resistance and EXABYTE multi-terrain racing compound tires. The Race Spec tunable rear wing effectively pushes the model to the ground, contributing to confident and responsive handling at high speeds. The required maintenance is reduced to a minimum, thanks to the efficient design. The aluminum sliding bracket allows you to quickly and easily access the Spektrum Firma 4074 2050Kv motor, other components are modularly arranged. The TLR Tuned TYPHON 4WD Race Buggy RTR in 1:8 scale features a rigid body with an exclusive Race Spec livery. This is the perfect RC buggy for intermediate racers.
The RC car model includes a number of high-end aluminum parts (7075-T6) that increase durability and improve handling. For intermediate riders, this is the perfect platform to race and gain experience tuning the model!
Aluminum lower and upper suspension brackets with laser-etched TLR Tuned logos allow for specific adjustments with the included washers to get the best result.
The Firma 2050Kv AC motor is supplied factory set on a black anodised aluminum slide mount which ensures high durability and quick hassle free access. The servo mount and 17mm wheel carriers are also made from aluminum for strength and keeping weight low.
Adjustable oil-filled shocks are mounted, using durable EXB Extreme Bash mounts, on TLR Tuned 7075-T6 aluminum towers. The shock absorbers have aluminum bodies, precision-machined pistons, dust caps to prevent dirt from entering, and a nut for easy spring preload adjustment.
The model has a finished elegant body with exclusive Race Spec colors and decals. adjustable low-drag rear wing helps keep the buggy on the ground and contributes to confident handling and responsive handling at high speeds.
dBoots® Exabyte tires are made from high-quality racing rubber for long-lasting durability and have a multi-layer tread pattern for excellent traction in all conditions. They contain foam inserts and are glued to 1:8 buggy nylon wheels. 1
The control of the model is provided by a modern SPEKTRUM™ FIRMA™ 150A SMART controller with a 32-bit ARM Cortex M4 microcontroller, which is able to capture complete telemetry and transmit it to the receiver using an integrated wire in the new IC5 connector. Data is transmitted via the SRXL2 protocol. The controller reads information about the type, temperature and voltage of the battery cells directly from the Smart battery. Current, temperature, total battery voltage, voltage of individual battery cells, battery temperature, remaining capacity and engine speed are available in real time.
The electronics are completely encased in a special potting material that prevents moisture* or dirt from entering the electronics. The regulator is switched on and adjusted with the buttons that are under the rubber cover.
The new generation SR315 DSMR Sport receiver in micro design weighs only 6g. Choice of SmartSafe™ or "Gas" Failsafe, push button pairing. DSMR technology ensures full range and fast response of the receiver.
The Spektrum SLT3 3-channel steering wheel transmitter operating in the 2.4 GHz band is compatible with the SLT protocol. The light weight of the Spektrum SLT3 transmitter allows you to hold it without fatigue. The steering wheel is covered with a foam rim for a firm grip. The layout of the controls is practical and intuitive - all controls are located so that they are quickly accessible when needed. A secure loop is provided for attachment to the strap.
Spektrum Smart technology offers more information about the model, transmission of telemetry, easier operation and battery care. All SMART components, including batteries, are capable of communicating with each other and transmitting telemetry. To display complete telemetry, you must have a compatible Spektrum transmitter with a display. The display of telemetry depends on the type of radio for a specific model.

A drive battery and an adequate charger for the drive battery are required to operate the model.
It is most suitable to use one LiPo drive battery with 4 or 6 cells (14.8, 22.2 V). In this case, you short-circuit the second input of the Y-cable with the attached jumper IC5, which is already part of the RC car package.
It is also possible to operate the model on a pair of two-cell (7.4 V) or three-cell (11.1 V) LiPo batteries connected in series. (The maximum height of the space for batteries is 50 mm.) In this case, you connect both batteries to the Y-cable with which the controller is factory-fitted. The disadvantage of this solution is that both accumulators must be completely identical and equally charged. Therefore, it is preferable to use one 4 or 6 cell accumulator, see above.

Smart G2 batteries are even simpler and safer, thanks to the absence of a balance connector. In addition, G2 batteries have up to 3x faster automatic discharge into storage mode. Smart G2 batteries can only be charged on Spektrum Smart and Smart G2 chargers.
Spektrum Smart chargers can charge both Smart and Smart G2 batteries as well as conventional batteries. Previously sold Smart chargers, once updated, also support Smart G2.
For the operation of the model, we recommend the Spektrum DX5C or DX5 Rugged universal transmitter as tuning, which has the following advantages compared to the included set transmitter:
For the normal operation of the RC car, you need tire glue, screw glue, a tool kit and silicone shock oil. We recommend an affordable tool kit for RC cars from our range.
Tire glue is used to glue the tires to the disc rim. It is always necessary that the tire is firmly stuck to the wheel rim all the way around! If the tire is not glued all the way around, it may tear. Tire glue has a special composition that is able to glue materials such as rubber or nylon, and at the same time, after hardening, the glue is flexible. We recommend Robitronic Tire Glue from our offer - see recommended accessories.
Sometimes it is necessary to add silicone oil to the shock absorbers of the model and change the oil in the differentials. During normal operation, there are only slight leaks of silicone oil on the piston rods of the shock absorber. In the event that the surface of the damper pistons or the condition of the seals is in poor condition, the oil leakage may be large. Repair kits or individual parts are supplied for these cases. For routine maintenance, screw glue is needed. Screws screwed into the metal material (e.g. screws in the motor, set screw in the pinion) must be secured against loosening with this glue.
Protective packaging is intended to limit the risk associated with the transport and charging of accumulators. LiPo accumulators can, while maintaining small dimensions and low weight, provide high discharge currents and have a large capacity for a long driving time. Conversely, the LiPo battery is especially susceptible to mechanical damage.
